my progress
someone once told me that life is simple. and on one hand, i agree with that. life can be simple if you choose to live life simply. this can be either lovely, or boring- but it is relative to how you look at it. the same goes for the more thoughtful people who think much more about things and are more contemplative about many things. in conjunction with my assignment (#1), this notion can be applied to any aspect of everyday life. any little detail or situation may appear to be so uncomplicated, but infinite questions can arise from slight consideration of it. assignment #1- diptychs- and my proposal for it (view of same object from different degrees) can (and in my opinion, should) be applied to all art exhibitions. there can be significance in any number of visual referents. basically what i am getting at is that there is always more of a story beneath what initially meets the eye. ask questions, think of possibilities, talk about your ideas, because as delightful as simplicity APPEARS, the elaboration of its representation is simply fun to think and talk about.
